Karelia is not only a land of forests and lakes but it also a place where natural mineral- shungite is located. Shungite represents a black colour rock formation with graphite sheen. According to some sources, shungite is nearly two billion years old.

The name of this stone comes from village Shunga, which is not so far from the Zazhoginskoy mine. Shungite has unique mineral properties. The solid possesses sorption, catalytic and antibacterial properties. It has the ability to absorb and neutralize high frequencies of electromagnetic radiation.
